Silent Knight is often specified on commercial buildings that need addressable detection and a capable communicator without stepping into a full Notifier-style network and voice campus. The line is familiar to installing companies that already stock SK-protocol devices and use Silent Knight programming software. Honeywell also sells overlapping IFP and Farenhyt-labelled panels that share architecture with Silent Knight, so a drawing set may show Silent Knight, Farenhyt, or an IFP model number pointing at the same general family. The approved submittal settles the exact SKU.
The 6700 is the entry intelligent panel in the current 6000 Series, used on smaller commercial occupancies that still want point identification and a modern communicator path. The 6808 is the mid 6000 Series panel and the replacement path for older 5808-class panels. The 6820 and 6820EVS are the larger 6000 Series panels, with the EVS variant adding emergency communication and voice for jobs that need speakers rather than horns alone. IFP model numbers (IFP-300, IFP-2100 class) appear on many jobs and are the same overall architecture unless the submittal says otherwise. The 5820XL and 5000 Series IntelliKnight panels remain very common in existing buildings and use a different tool chain from the current 6000 Series.
6000 Series panels run an SLC set up for one device protocol at a time — SK or SD — and the two are not mixed on a loop. Output circuits include NACs plus flexible Flexput circuits the program assigns as notification or initiating within the listing. Annunciators, printers, and power supplies ride the SBUS accessory bus. Programming is orientation only here: 6000 Series work uses Honeywell Fire Software Suite, legacy 5000 Series stays on SKSS, and JumpStart is a starting inventory, not a finished labeled system.
